MicroConcrete Installation – Loft Conversion, London

Project: Large scale MicroConcrete installation to the internal walls, ceilings, floors and furniture in a private house.

Materials used: Resifan coating was layered on top of suspended plywood floors constructed over stabilising base. Hand applied trowelled finish Microconcrete in Versatile Grey was applied to walls, floors, ensuite bathroom, ceiling and furniture.

Timescales: 5 weeks on-site installation

Challenges: Very tight timescales combined with a difficult on-site access. The installation presented additional challenges due to a structural configuration of walls and ceilings in a newly refurbished loft conversion.

Description

MicroConcrete is a great alternative to traditional polished concrete, and at a minimal thickness and weight it produces a seamless, continuous finish. When applied MicroConcrete is slightly thicker than MicroCement at 2-3 mm, and is ideal for tougher environments such as shops, bars, hotels and exterior spaces.

Like MicroCement it can be applied to interior and exterior surfaces, without the need for joins. It can also be applied over existing surfaces. MicroConcrete is a smoother finish and is more slip-resistant than MicroCement. Suitable for underfloor heating and available in 35 standard colours or RAL colours on request.
